About Run Coach Kai

I believe everyone deserves to run — joyfully, confidently, and without fear.

Running doesn’t have to hurt. It doesn’t have to be intimidating. And it doesn’t require you to be fast, experienced, or a “runner” yet.

Whether you’re thinking:

  • “I’ve never run before — can I really start?”

  • “I want to run a race one day but I’m scared I’ll get hurt”

  • “I used to run, but life pulled me away”

  • “I want to be part of something fun and supportive”

I got you.

My approach is not about chasing PRs, grinding mileage, or pushing people into discomfort. It’s about confidence, consistency, curiosity, and community — the kind of running that doesn’t disappear after one event, but becomes something you keep and grow with.

Why I Coach

I started running as a kid on the streets of NYC. After time away from the sport, it came back into my life through a simple weekly run with a friend — and that small habit changed everything for me.

After years of racing, training, coaching, and working with runners at all levels, I realized something important:

The biggest barriers to running aren’t speed or age.
They are fear, confusion, and isolation.

Being told what pace to run isn’t enough.
Being given a training plan isn’t enough.
People need an environment where they feel supported for who they are today, not what they’ll become tomorrow.

That’s why I created a space where:

  • beginners feel welcome

  • comeback runners feel confident

  • people who’ve been injured feel safe moving forward

  • community matters more than competition

My Philosophy

Running is something everyone can learn, enjoy, and grow with.
You don’t need to start fast — you need to start with support.

I emphasize:

  • Consistency over intensity

  • Injury-aware progress, not punishment

  • Joyful movement and community connection

  • Purposeful runs with real life in mind

  • Progress that feels good, not scary

Most people say:

“I’m not a runner.”

I say:

“You can become one — starting right where you are.”
